Les enfants comprennent Dubaï plus vite que les adultes : c’est grand, c’est frais, ça brille, et il y a toujours un étage au-dessus. On y va pour les magasins, bien sûr — mais surtout pour cette sensation qu’il est minuit et que la journée n’est pas finie. Nous vous logeons à Downtown pour que tout se fasse à pied, et au douzième étage pour que le bruit reste en bas.Children understand Dubai faster than adults do: it is big, it is cool, it shines, and there is always another floor above. You go for the shops, of course — but mostly for the feeling that it is midnight and the day is not finished. We put you in Downtown so everything is walkable, and on the twelfth floor so the noise stays below you.

La mer est à vingt-cinq minutes de voiture, pas en bas de l’hôtel — Downtown n’est pas sur la côte, et les photos de plage des brochures sont prises ailleurs. Sous les fenêtres il y a un échangeur à douze voies : d’où le douzième étage. Et en juillet-août il fait 45°, personne ne marche dehors entre onze heures et cinq heures. Si vous venez pour la ville, venez entre novembre et mars.The sea is a twenty-five minute drive away, not below the hotel — Downtown is not on the coast, and the beach photographs in the brochures were taken somewhere else. Under the windows there is a twelve-lane interchange: hence the twelfth floor. And in July and August it is 45°, nobody walks outside between eleven and five. If you are coming for the city, come between November and March.
